" University of Northampton - a great place to study" says Andrew
Andrew Simpson has welcomed the official launch of the University of Northampton this week. "It is a tremendous boost for the town by raising our profile nationally as a great place to come and study".
Andrew Simpson is himself a former student of Nene College which was the forerunner to the current University he studied a Combined Honours Degree at the College graduating in 1986 and going on to spend two years as the Student Union Sabbatical Treasurer and then President.
"Nene College brought me to Northampton and I have stayed ever since" he continued "Even back in the 1980's it was an academic centre that was going places, boosted by a friendly and inclusive attitude and with a breadth of courses that at that time outstripped many universities. It thoroughly deserves its University status".
