Andrew Simpson together with local Liberal Democrat Councillors and helpers are running a number of campaigns across Northampton - some are local to individual areas - ranging from residents parking in Abington to traffic calming measures in Kingsley. For details of these campaigns please see the local party web site.
Below are details of the current town wide campaigns - please sign our petitions if you support the aims and objectives of the campaign.
For the past several months, Andrew Simpson has been leading the campaign against the government enforced growth targets being forced on Northampton.
His survey, which you can take on this website, seeks to gather the views of residents and better understand their concerns.
Andrew's petition, which has been running for several months and has hundreds of names on it - demands the government look again at the very high numbers it is demanding, and condemns local Labour MP Sally Keeble for supporting her government instead of her constituents, and failing to vote against the plans as they went through parliament.

Many Northampton residents have contacted Andrew Simpson and the Liberal Democrats about Gordon Brown's doubling of taxes for the lowest paid in our community.
At a time when petrol, energy and food prices are rising rapidly, Gordon Brown's tax blunder is simply hearless and cruel. Despite a one-off rebate for low paid workers this year, thousands of Northampton residents will be worse off in future.
Andrew Simpson and the Liberal Democrats have launched a petition to stand up for ordinary people and call for Gordon Brown to reverse his decision

The Labour Government have announced plans for up to 49,000 houses in Northamptonshire over the next 30 years, with talk of a 'linear city' linking Northampton to Wellingborough, Rushden and Corby.
Conservative borough councillors have undermined the campaign against over development by refusing to support a Lib Dem call for the council to oppose extra development on greenfield sites.
Andrew Simpson has launched a petition opposing over development in our county. 'While their are thousands of acres of old industrial land all over the country waiting for re-development, there should be no development on greenfield sites around our town' says Andrew
Local Liberal Democrats are supporting the 'STOP' campaign (Stop The Over-Development Plans for Northamptonshire) and will be handing in petitions to their campaign.

Liberal Democrats in Northampton are collecting signatures as part of the national campaign to scrap the council tax.
Lib Dem Parliamentary spokesperson for Northampton North Andrew Simpson said "Taxpayers in Northampton are now paying 80% more than they were nearly ten years ago and with the latest 6.1% increase Council Tax must be scrapped"
Liberal Democrats are calling for Council Tax to be replaced with a Local Income Tax which according to their figures would mean 70% of people presently paying Council Tax would be better off.

"Local Income Tax is fairer as it is based on the ability to pay" said Andrew Simpson " It would also be more efficient and save Councils the cost of collecting money . In Northampton a pensioner couple on a joint income of £14,600 would pay just £22 under a Local Income Tax for a band D property whilst under council tax they would pay £1,157.95. Council tax increases more than inflation and more than pensions hits those on low income the most"
Petions collected in Northampton will be added to those of the Natioanl campaign being run by the Liberal Democrats. For more information please see the 'Axe the Tax' web site.
