New Lib Dem advert highlights Northampton North goes gold !

A new local poster campaign will be unveiled today by Andrew Simpson Liberal Democrat candidate for Northampton North which highlights an opinion poll that shows the Lib Dems can win in the constituency.

The poll which was conducted by independent pollsters ICM last week asked: "If you thought that the Liberal Democrats could win in your constituency would you vote for them, not change your vote, or switch to another party?" Analysis of the results showed that the % of the votes would be as follows:

Liberal Democrat 39

Labour 31

Conservative 26

The result, according to a computer analysis by the Liberal Democrats, could mean victory for Andrew Simpson in Northampton North.

Liberal Democrat leader Charles Kennedy; "This goes to show when people think the Liberal Democrats can win, the Liberal Democrats do win. In Northampton North that would mean victory for Andrew Simpson. The Liberal Democrats are the real alternative in this election, and this poll shows that if everybody in Northampton North who supports the Liberal Democrats' positive plans for Britain voted for us we could win here."

The poster campaign shows a map of the UK and highlights all the constituencies where the results of the poll would mean a win for the Lib Dems. Clearly highlighted is Northampton North.

Commenting on the poll Andrew said, "This confirms the reaction we are getting on the doorsteps with increasing support for us in the constituency with it being a race between Labour and the Lib Dems for the seat".

A poster van with the new advert will be at the Chronicle & Echo at approx 3pm today (Saturday 30th).
