Northampton North Parliamentary Candidate Andrew Simpson has released the results of his recent NHS Inquiry. Over 850 people who use local health services took part. Despite feedback being satisfactory in some areas, the full results paint a very worrying picture of our local NHS.

Andrew said: "The Health Service remains a huge issue for many people in Northampton. It is clear from the results that people are fed up with an over-centralised NHS. 95% want decisions about local health services to be taken locally, with less interference from central government.

"Our doctors and nurses do a great job, but 78% of those who took part in the Inquiry were unhappy about how Labour have handled the NHS, and 63% thought that local health services had got worse in recent years.

"The findings also highlight problems with evening and weekend GP cover, and 25% of patients have to wait longer than 3 months for a hospital appointment after being referred by their GP.

"Despite improvements to the cleanliness of Northampton General Hospital recently, 40% were still not happy about levels of cleanliness and the threat of super bugs"
