Thank you for visiting my website.
I am the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for the forthcoming General Election on 12th December.
I stood for Parliament last time in the 2017 snap election and, as you will see from my website, I am an experienced campaigner having increased the vote share for the Liberal Democrats in every parliamentary contest I have fought.
This election will be like no other I have fought being as it is down to the stalemate over the way forward for Brexit.
But it must be remembered that the whole Brexit mess is down to the Conservatives and in particular those in the European Reform Group (ERG). Their obessesion with leaving the E.U. has caused division and dissent not only in their own party but across the wider country. Daventry's current MP is a leading member of that group.
I think we need to Stop Brexit and instead concentrate on tackling the real issues that are causing problems for our country - in particular the Climate Emergency, the lack of affordable housing, the need for investment in education and in supporting our precious NHS.
If you would like to help my campaign you can do so in many ways:
Otherwise on this website you can find information about my past and present campaigns and my interests and views.
With best wishes,

Local Liberal Democrats have today launched their plan for the West Northamptonshire Council elections on Thursday 6th May.
"We are determined to make a success of the new council" said local campaigner Andrew Simpson, who is also one of the party's candidates in the Braunston & Crick ward. "These elections offer the chance to break from past failures and build a new council that is closer to the people it serves and where quality local services are a priority. We can see the Conservatives failure all around us from broken roads through to lost bus services and libraries thretened with closure. If the Pandemic has taught us anything it is the importance of good public services that benefit local communities.

The Conservative leadership of the Shadow West Northamptonshire Council are proposing real increases in Council Tax but delivering few service improvements.
Daventry District Lib Dem Councillor Jonathan Harris explained 'The headline Council Tax increase of 4.99% is well above inflation, and hides the fact that many residents across West Northamptonshire will see actual rises well above this figure, yet services will be the same as before.'

12 months ago on the 18th July 2019, I won a stunning by-election for the Daventry District Council ward of Brixworth. We worked hard to replace one of our Tory councillors who had been 'missing in action' for the best part of six months, securing eventually over 50% of the vote and a 33% swing from the Conservatives. We still have another Tory councillor who most locals will tell you is continually missing in action.
West Northamptonshire deserves better than this unelected, anti-democratic Kangaroo Council the Tories have createdArticle: Jun 15, 2020By West Northants Lib Dems
Where is the democracy in our local government? Asks the Liberal Democrats following the first meeting of the shadow executive for the new West Northamptonshire Shadow Council as the Tories act politically to promote cronyism over competence.
"The Leader and his Executive are unelected - like all of the Shadow Council - because of election delays. Some councillors have been in post for six years. The leader of the council is unelected as leader. He has been anointed by the Tory central government. Where is the democracy for local government?" asks Liberal Democrat Councillor David Tarbun.

There have been many stories doing the rounds regarding an apparent £10,000 grant being given to MP's to help them and their teams work from home during the coronavirus lock down.
With so much misinformation around our local Daventry District Lib Dem Councllor, Jonathan Harris, decided to take the issue up with the Acting Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Ed Davey MP.

With the current COVID-19 crisis unfolding all around us and our eyes all focused on daily news briefings, you would be forgiven for having missed an emerging local story which will affect us all.
Most will be familiar of the mass failings of Northamptonshire County Council which have evolved over the last few years almost like a plot from a 'you can't believe it' TV soap.

Countries like Kenya, Ghana and South Africa are suffering catastrophic losses to the economy and livelihoods. This is due to the grounding of flights to Europe. Fruit and vegetables are being left to rot [i] .
At the same time, public health experts are proclaiming the benefits to the immune system from eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables[ii]. However, now is the 'hungry gap' when there is little produced locally in North Europe.

Local proposals to tackle the Climate Emergency put together by a cross-party group on Daventry District Council have been watered down with over 50 recommendations reduced to just 20.
The Conservative-run council declared a climate emergency and are to allocate responsibility to an existing Senior Manager designated as Climate Emergency Champion.
